A corner with
a story to tell.

Before the coffee counter and comfortable chairs, this was an old Gulf gas station. Here’s how the corner changed.

A new life for
the old station.

For years, the former Gulf station near Route 13 and Main Street stood vacant. Kevin Taisey saw another possibility for the building: a coffeehouse where people could meet, get some work done, and catch up.

When the property became available, he moved quickly. The building was restored, with its wide windows and overhead steel beam still part of the space. Corner Grounds Café opened on January 19, 2024.

Today, there are cozy chairs where service bays once stood, coffee at the counter, and tables for a quick visit or a long conversation. The building has changed, but the corner is still unmistakably Odessa.

Same corner.
A new chapter.

The Gulf station around 1995, and the café on that same Odessa corner today. The building’s history is still easy to spot.

The windows and steelwork still tell part of the building’s story. Everything around them has a new purpose.

Same big windows. Different kind of morning.

behind the Grounds.

Owner Kevin Taisey and manager Kaylin Reese are part of the everyday life of Corner Grounds. Alongside the café team, they’ve made this a place centered on good drinks, good food, and an easy welcome.

The details are deliberate: a bold, smooth house roast, comfortable seating, and a menu with familiar favorites as well as something new to try.

A café rooted in its corner of Odessa.
